001 CYBER HOLE

LOOKING AT THE DISTORTED SELF IN THE MIRROR, QUESTIONING OUR FUTURE.
INSPIRATION
Cyberpunk is what scientists and many people think our future will be looking like. But is that real? After research, In my ideas, the future will not be what people predict right now, The world is full of unknowns. The cyberpunk may become a new world that has never happened before, a parallel world.

THE EXHIBITED WORK:
'CYBER HOLE' is a curatorial project of Jinxin Guo. In the form of electronic black holes, the curators invited participants to observe themselves in the mirror, thereby thinking and question our future. THE PROJECT was presented in December 2019 at the NSCAD Academy Building.

THE IDENTITY OF THE EXHIBITION
Depicts an "Unknown future" and this is shown in media and exhibition design. The exhibition consists of the exhibited project and a black wall which three meters high and six meters wide. The huge black wall heralds uncertainty about the future. By interacting with the "CYBER HOLE" in the center of the wall, participants will see themselves which are distorted in the mirror.

002 LIGHT AND LIFE

LIGHT AND LIFE ARE INSEPARABLE RELATED TO EACH OTHER. WITHOUT LIGHT PLANTS WILL DIE, ANIMALS WILL DIE, HUMANS WILL DIE. WITHOUT LIGHT, THERE IS NO LIFE. THROUGH MY MEDIA WORK, I WANT TO EXPRESS THE CLOSE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO.

Human life is our usual actions and habit. Record people's action through reflective paper suspended in mid-air is my way to show the connection between life and light.

The shape of the light that appears on the wall is like a human skeleton. It also represents mankind life in some form.

CUBE & NATURE
004 SOUND
This is an experiment I did in 2019. 4 of my friends in the record studio. There were many items of different materials in the studio, such as cans, springs, glass, and drum stands. We use these materials to create the sound. There was no dialogue between us, and we started to use these objects to make the sounds. At first, our sounds were messy and we played our own ways. But soon, we slowly started to make rhythmic (regular)sounds. Match together. In the end it became a regular sound.

005 AURORA
Statement:
When people talk about Aurora, the first thing that comes to mind besides beauty is the cold. But for me, it was absolutely quiet. When I looked at the Aurora Borealis, I first realized that the world could be so quiet, without any noise. Through my work, I want to achieve this kind of feeling.
